The Bottom Line: This really is the best WYSIWYG web designer out there, and I have tried them all!

I am a graphic designer - I like the design aspect of webpages, not the coding so while I *can* write html I avoid it at all costs. I probably have all the web software reviewed on epinions at home and I have stuck with Fusion since I first tried it. Instead of focusing on all the great features which have been done, I'll answer some of the complaints.
- People with Zero Skill use this software
Well...yeah, it's called WYSIWYG software. If you want to straight code a site, why are you looking at this software to begin with?? Take a look at a few of my sites (and I am an amateur really) and you'll see that they are customized.
- Sites are not customizable
This isn't true at all. You can choose to use a template if you want to, but I open my sites in plain form and design from there. Version 5.0 gave you much more html access which is nice, those who want to go a step further can.
- Price
Yes, it is expensive if you buy it from Netobjects but you can find it elsewhere for MUCH less. Try doing a search through www.mysimon.com or even in Yahoo! Shopping, you'll find it much cheaper.
- Horrible Appearing Code
Ok, I'll give you this one. It does write code in a very complicated fashion. But I have gone in and edited the source code and I am far from a html expert. But, generally speaking if you are using a WYSIWYG software, you are not going to be editing the code any time soon.
- Won't Give You Direct Access to Your Code
Version 5.0 and up will.
- Crashes and freezes
I have never had this happen, so maybe it's a machine problem. The newer versions seem to have nixed all bugs mentioned too.
- Not easy to use at all
This one blew me away because it is so easy to use! Once you get into more complicated features of course there is more to the process, but compared to Dreamweaver this is a peice of cake!
- FTP doesn't work
The FTP function works beautifully for me and I rarely use anything else. Everyone once in a while if I have been working for an extended period of time without closing the program it will have trouble connecting. If I close and reopen the program it connects again on the first try.
Overall I love this software and I use it daily. Version 4.0 is still my favorite, but I am getting used to 5.0 too. Good for beginner's (I learned the basics with no user's manual and I was a complete novice then) and grows along with you. Coolmaps.com sells add on software that makes Netobjects the most well rounded software out there. The basic software misses a few features I'd like to see (thumbnail images, script pop up screens) but you can aquire them from coolmaps for about $10. Don't buy it from Netobjects though, search around and buy it for less!
